ESTHER TALLAMY DECEASED AT 99

An email forwarded to the webmaster is depicted below.
The email was forwarded from Joyce Bogan, who has been in touch with Esther, or via her nephew, Alden the past few years.
The following announcement was originated by Alden, with minor editing for compactness.

To Family and Friends,
Today, January 30, 2017, my dear aunt Esther Rowe Tallamy died at home at 12:30 P.M. (PCT), on a warm, sunny day here in Southern California.
"Esther" was in her 100th year!  Her past four years here in California have been happy ones.  She loved the snowless winters, filet mignon and chocolate cake at Palm Springs landmark restaurant "Billy Reed's".
I am honored to have been with "Esther" for her last thirty hours of life.
Please know that she did not suffer and had not been ill.
Aunt Esther is now flying with the angels!
There will not be any service for her here in California, but we will have a gathering at the family cemetery plot in Maine in the warmer months.
Esther's ashes will be scattered into the sea off her beloved Maine.
"Aunt" Esther was quite a gal: a career woman; a traveler; a jazz aficionado and men adored her.  I have always admired her independence, love of family, commitment to long term friends and her ever readiness for adventure.
"Esther" and I have been close since I was a child when she was a single, post-war divorcee kicking up her heels.  I shall miss her.
