August Rally Meeting Minutes

by Tracey Magee, Secretary
Escapees Chapter 3
Meeting – August 11, 2016
Pumpkin Patch RV Resort - Hermon, ME

At 9:40am Tim Hanson, President, called the meeting to order and all said the pledge of allegiance.

Tim dispensed with the reading of the secretaries report.

Maureen DeRoy, Treasurer, reported that the treasury held $1,858.84 before the start of the Lobster Fest. There was a total of 32 rigs this year….a new record. A motion was made and seconded to approve the report as read.

There was no old business brought up. We moved right on to new business.

Two dates were proposed for the next Pumpkin Patch Rally (Aug 9-13 and 16-20) and the later date was accepted by majority.

People were asked to give some thought to the June Rally. A wagon master is still needed.

The time for voting in a Treasurer and Vice President is once again upon us. Maureen DeRoy was nominated once again for Treasurer and Charlie Bennett was nominated for Vice President and both were 2nd by all. Thanks to both.

Adoptions were completed. Welcome to all our new adopted members.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn
the meeting at 9:55.

June Rally Report
by Tim Hanson, President
We had a small and fruitful rally at the Newfound RV Park in Bridgewater, New hampshire.  What a wonderful host Paul, campground proprietor, turned out to be. Paul and his wife Bette were even invited to one of the evening meals.
Following this meal we had music performed by my brother-in-law Antoine Arsenault, who with his wife Kathy, came over from Gorham, NH. The chapter paid Paul a small monetary token as appreciation for his his performance.  The wives of both Antoine and Paul, our host, who have suffered strokes in the past, received great pleasure from the music as did all of us.

Maureen and John DeRoy deserve much praise for the plans and execution of this rally.  This was the second consecutive June rally here at Newfound RV Park.  The DeRoys also organized and hosted last year's rally as well as doing a major part in the success of the summer rally as well.

Chapter 3 membership rolls also increased with some new additions.  There were also a couple of full-time RVers, not members of  the chapter, who attended and added to the camaraderie.  Computer tech support was supplied by one of them.

Many of us will be heading to the Escapades in July at Essex Junction in Vermont. Approximately three weeks after that we will be at the LobsterFest event  at "Pumpkin Patch" in Hermon Maine.  Time and space is running out for your chance to be at the summer rally (LobsterFest), so make your reservations so that you can share in the wonderful times in store.

Millie and I will be arriving one day early in Essex Junction and hope to see you all there as well as LobsterFest 2016.

It should be noted that officer elections for Treasurer and Vice-president are scheduled at the annual meeting held during LobsterFest.  We are looking for some new candidates for both positions. John DeRoy will not be seeking another two year term. Maureen DeRoy will be running again.

ANYBODY WANNA STEP FORWARD?
