2015 LobsterFest Wagon Master's Report

The day before was a very rainy day, for the drive up. There were 12 rigs arriving early. At least 14 members attended the pre-rally dinner at Angler’s. Great food and good company.
The weather cleared and became hot. In all there were 24 rigs for the rally. We had four visitors for lobster day. Eleven rigs were new comers. There were 5 adoptions to the club. Michael and Linda Anderson, "Tim" Hanson and Millie Bomas, Palmer and Nadine Martin, Rick and Mary Sorensen and Peter and Donna Ward. Welcome to Northeast Chapter 3.
A fire with music, {Tim's guitar and vocal  } was on Wednesday Evening. During the music, we watched the lightning show above. Everyone enjoyed the musicand campfire until the bugs came in full force.
There was a pet parade. With 7 dogs and a "pet moose".  All entries received dog treats and a Certificate of Participation. There were  lots of on lookers.
On Thursday, there was a Dessert Auction. Not too many members showed up, but the ones that did - - - went home with chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate mousse, Boston cream pie, cakes, blueberry muffins and other desserts.
The Shades of Blue had the members dancing around the club house. What a great way to end a busy day.
Friday morning, after omelet in a bag, we had our Chapter Meeting. The new time for the annual meeting  was accepted greatly. Phil and Cindy Devonshire, Chapter 3 Members and VCR’s, gave a report on Escapees, and talked about the 2016
Escapade in Vermont. Registrations will be taken after Sept. 1, 2015.
Members showed up to help with the lobster fest. Thank You Peter and Paul for the good lobster and clam prices. Tables set, butter melted, water boiling - - - now to wait. After a few hours a club photo was taken and then it was time to eat. What a good time!
CARE will be receiving a check for $175.00 from Chapter 3 from book sales, donations, Flag Stand Auction and Raffle.
Thank You, everyone for all your help. Everything ran great. See you all next year.
Sincerely,
John and Maureen

AUGUST RALLY ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
Recorded by Club Secretary Tracey M.

At 9:39am Joan Hurd, President, called the meeting to order and all said the pledge of allegiance.

Maureen gave the treasurer’s report, year ending 2014. She stated that the income for last year was $5,892.24 while the expenses amounted to $5,913.16 resulting in a checkbook balance of $1,925.42.
Maureen explained the Chapter decision to pay $100 a year to join the Escapees Social Network. We could either join or dissolve our chapter. Our 1st  two years are free.  Phil & Cindy Devonshire said that one of the advantages to joining was that our chapter will be protected from things like the IRS. A motion was made and seconded to approve the report as read.

Tim Hanson had been asked at the June rally to find new people, to step into upcoming officers seats. He nominated Paul Williams for President but Paul did not attend this rally or meeting so was not accepted. Nominations for Secretary were also on the floor. Tim Hanson was nominated for president  and Tracey Coran Magee was re-nominated as secretary. Both nominees accepted and were voted in by attending club members for a two-year term.

A June Rally Host was sought but not found. Scusset, MA was suggested as a possible site for the June 2016 rally.

Charlie Bennett thanked everyone for the help with the preparation of the lobster feast. A special thank you to Pete Ward for getting the clams and lobsters, this year, at good prices
The Devonshires, our VCRs, gave us their report. The latest SKP# as of the rally was 124989. The members with SKP# 124987 were present at Lobster Fest. Membership price is back up again and the price for Rainbow Park is up slightly. The past Escapade had 851 rigs, 91 rigs offsite, 500-600 SKP’s boondocked and there were 720 walk-ins for a total of 1,952. There were 34 chapters and BOF present. The most expensive donut sold with the profits going to CARE was $2,000 purchased by ANT Credit Union. The total raised from the donuts was $6,481. The Chili cook-off brought in $3,894 and the total raised for CARE was $15,000. Cindy encouraged anyone ordering from Amazon use Amazon Smile. When an order is placed through Smile, 5% of the total goes to CARE though you need to make sure it goes under Escapees Care. SKP Acres will take place April 14-19th. The Escapade will be at  Essex Junction Vermont on July 24-29th. Registration for the Escapade will be open on September 1st and there will be no hook-ups. Sign up to get your tanks pumped out when registering. There is a Walmart and Lowes in Essex Junction.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:11 and Joan hit the gavel.

2015 June Rally Wagon Master's Report

The Spring Rally was held from June 9 to June 12, 2015 at Newfound RV Park in Bridgewater, NH.  There were 12 rigs and one couple who stayed at the Bridgewater Inn but attended the rally. There were 24 attendees, 11 of which were "First Timers".
It was a pleasure to see Fred McKenna.  This was his first trip without his wife, Nancy, who he had lost late last year,  As hard as it was for him he enjoyed himself with old and new friends.
Newfound RV Park was an excellent central NH campground to hold a rally.  There was a large hall and "Paul" the campground owner being very helpful making sure that everyone's cable TV worked.  He also gave rides to campers going to the dumpsters, or to their rigs in his golf cart. He also spent time with us joking.
The days were free for boat tours of Squam Lake, bike riding, boating or visiting the local brewery and winery.  The Lupine Festival was held nearby, what a beautiful sight. There were plenty of local sights and plenty of time to sit back and relax for those who chose to stay put.  Catching up with old friends and getting to know new friends.

JUNE RALLY MEETING MINUTES

Note: Because a sufficient number of Chapter 3 members attended this rally, a chapter meeting was held on Wed., June 10th at 10:00am. Chapter officers present were: Joan Hurd, president; John DeRoy, V. Pres.; and Maureen DeRoy, treasurer. Ron Scopa substituted for, and recorded the meeting minutes for the Chapter secretary, who did not attend the rally.
With Joan presiding over the meeting, Maureen read her last report, stating that the current chapter roster included a total of 60 members. There were a few others who had not yet re-enrolled. The current chapter balance was $1,007.63. Maureen also revealed that the registration forms and general itinerary for the August rally (LobsterFest) was ready to be included in the newsletter and also available to be added on the Chapter Webpage.
Joan reiterated the need for volunteers to oversee the key events scheduled during the August rally. Joan also talked briefly about the current Escapee special renewal fee ($29.95/yr.) and the new Xscapers branch of the club. Joan also expressed the need of a new chapter officer nominating committee before the elections which is sched-uled in August at the annual meeting. A new president will be needed because Joan will be stepping down, effec-tive as of the conclusion of the annual meeting. As mentioned before in this newsletter, Mr. Hanson will be actively seeking suitable candidates for president and also secretary.
